As Mike said, it is great to see a story like that, from someone who really did not look at failure as an option. You have definitely earned the right to keep your head high.

There have been other threads here about failure. It really is an interesting topic.
Is is really recognizing that failure is found all along the path to success. Everyone fails sometimes. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is immune from it...
It is what you do with that failure that matters.
Do you quit and bury your head in the TV with feelings of shame and inadequacy?
Or do you learn the lesson you need to learn, improve yourself, and continue on?
