In the state of Michigan, can I purchase a piece of real property, using an LLC, without my spouses involvement?

Probably. But you really need to check with an attorney on this one.

In Arizona, which is a community property state, my husband and I can own property as "sole and separate" property. We have to sign off that we agree to that. By the way, every single property is either in his name or my name, never both. That way we can qualify for more loans with better terms. :-)
