I think that affiliate marketing is business taken to a whole other level. Not only does Affiliate marketing benefit the person making the referral to the said affiliate site, it benefits the consumer and the producer.
That's right, I said it.
Anyway, toning my aggression down, Affiliate Marketing is just such a great business because it gives people the opportunity to really start today with no money and make something out of nothing. If the products are desirable to the consumer and your web page is convincing enough, I think you'll do pretty good. I personally have an arsenal of over 150 affiliate sites which continually pay me to this day. I am not going to name them here because I don't want to get them banned from the programs or my marketing outlets. Just as I have made claims on a site I could care less about, I have also made claims and promises on affiliate sites that I break every single day. And, there is nothing the customer can do about it other than ask the affiliate site for a refund.
I would say I have to honor a refund about every 1 in 10 times. Not such a big deal when you're making 10's of millions of dollars a day in affiliate commissions. Just make sure which ever products you decide to promote have good return systems to piggy back off of.
Additionally, Affiliate Marketing is so good because of the way you can design your system.
For example, I have made billions just by relinking people to Amazon. I mean, come on browsky... it's Amazon dawg. People are GOING TO BUY from Amazon... all I have to do is build my little bridge and stick it between the sales site and the place a buyer might be.
So you could also think of Affiliate marketing as brokering products and services.
But it's a beautiful system because you're at the heart of the action.
The exchange. You have the ability to literally exchange something WITHOUT owning it and you can sell numerous amounts of ways by simply having a well design site.
Seriously, you could build a profitable site in less than 15 mins. Somebody said early in the day that you shouldn't try to get rich off of doing 15 min sites. But, my answer is. If I am in 10's of thousands of markets with 10's of thousands of my sites at the forefront of the actual exchange linking them to Amazon with the idea that they're getting more than Amazon is to offer, am I not getting a head. At accelerated paces?
Aren't we all TRYING to find the path of least resistance? Can't we all just get rich in affiliate marketing? YES. You can. Surprisingly, affiliate marketing might also be a solution to a recession on the micro economic level because it provides the ability for the common man to start trading NOW with products and services he does not own, produce, store, or distribute.
All of us can do Affiliate Marketing and change our lives and there is 100's of thousands of exclusive styles to marketing numerous amounts of products.
You can sell physical products, digital products, and on and on without production and distribution costs. It's kind of like outsourcing your whole operation. Plus, the more you realize that you can do this and piggy back off of other people's efforts the more you'll realize that God has granted you a permit to be lazy while still effectively solving human demands and problems...
Take me for example, right now as we speak... I am having hundreds of products manufactured for future sales. I am sending 100's of people products. I am processing hundreds of orders. I am packaging up lots of products like TV's, Books, Cameras, Cell Phones, Shoes, and on and on. And you also have the digital front, I am not sure what you would like to target with this but, you can go after tons of things from Domain Sales to selling marketing campaigns on top of marketing campaigns like the recent derivatives on top of derivatives expose on Wall Street.
You can be a Madoff like me all in the comfort of your own home office.
If you are going to start marketing as an affiliate. I suggest that you start with Amazon and get used to their infrastructure.
Amazon.com : Sell on Amazon
It's not that complicated and very intuitive once your subconsciousness is altered and experience grants you comfort. You will like it and should probably start distribution of the said products that interest you so your landing sites are structured for success and conversion! Clickbank is alright but, I don't do as much of it anymore.
One of my personal favorite techniques is incentivized-opt-in affiliate marketing where the whole page is basically designed to be my cash bucket.
I can get paid on the front end by generating a lead and get paid again after that lead links into my affiliate landing page. You can sell the name and email to another site, be it a competitor or different market, then get paid by amazon if you have a conversion. Don't let nobody tell you this isn't possible either because if you just take the time to learn how to make basic pages, you'll get used to it, you'll be making plenty of money, and you'll be pumping out 3-4 sites a day to start marketing.
Now as far as marketing your affiliate site, I recommend: Well... paid... but viral can still be very affective. Paid is a better way to go as long as you follow basic economic principles and your ads generate more income than what your overall cash outlay is for the said advertisement.
You can either buy leads, buy marketing space on sites like Google and Yahoo, or target other sites.
Or virally is also very affective. Strategies I use are articles, videos, forums, social media, and link swaps. And on and on. You can do this yourself, or you can figure out a way to pay somebody else to do it for you. Either on an hourly waged consistent basis, commission basis, there is plenty of way to compensate people for their efforts etc. etc.
For me... viral marketing starts with me creating a system and having somebody else work it. I will either write up good profiles on the social media sites and have somebody use a bot like friend blaster to build them up. Or I will design banners, text ads, articles, videos, blogs, forums, reviews, press releases, and on and on.
Twitter, Facebook, Myspace (Kind of despise because of their linking policy.), Youtube, Rever, Metacafe, umm... Digg, Blogs, man... to much to list... but I am just trying to give you an idea here!
But the key to it is, I have trained people to duplicate for me.
You need to make your viral marketing system easy enough so a kindergartener can build, use, expand, and manage it. Your basic job on the part of viral marketer,
as the driver and not the passenger, is you want to build the foundation once so it is duplicable forever with mild alteration and also as a word of advice, make sure there is minimal obstacles between your customer and the check out screen. The closer to the "Send Money Now" button. The better!
Imo, WORKING BACKWARDS... An affiliate operation should really be no more than this: "Send My Money Now" & Information Entry<Cart Confirmation Screen<Product Decsription/Information/Affiliates Page<My Affiliate Landing Pitch Page<Ultimate Offer Incentivized Opt-In PopUp or Page<Backlink
I.E. - When I am not sun bathing on the beach and getting the ladies, I am selling Mac Books on Amazon. If I sell Mac Books. I first want the sale, then I want the lead, then I want the link coming into my site to be as close to free as possible, YET maximally effective.
Amazon
Now the part of running an affiliate program. This is another area of leverage I have ventured into.
Leveraging other affiliates whether individual or organizational is BIG business. You can even do it on your own affiliate pages. I think they're rare... but how many people have you seen offering affiliate programs on their own affiliate linking page?

Once you realize that commission can be broken up, though, you can start getting a lot more viral traffic. For FREE.
But, offering an affiliate programs on sites you created with products you either manufacture or own the legal property rights to is also a very effective trade off. If say, you owned a store or something of that nature... you could make LOTS AND LOTS of extra money.
Take this site in particular for example:
Legal Buds.com - Legal bud | Herbal Vaporizer | Herbal Vaporizers. It's a store type of setup, BUT I as an affiliate referrer have the opportunity to make lots of money off of it while the hosting vendor benefits from the sales and additional traffic to their site.
So there is 101 things you can do with Affiliate Marketing and you can let your creativity run rampant. Spontaneous action, trial and error, and time is the key to your success as an affiliate I would venture to say.
Also, I wanted to say, remember that websites can be tremendous Assets for both Income and Trade Off to someone else. Websites, like Real Estate, are indeed ARTIFACTS that you are creating to be passive and automated service renderers to human beings while also extracting the highest possible profit for you.
I think to sum it all up. Yes, Affiliate Marketing should be a strategy for your overall web success! As a producer and marketer you can only win by it.
