OK, as promised, here are the 2 radio shows that pretty much sum up how we got here:

This American Life

This American Life

Both shows are about 59 min long.

Worth your time-- I'd done tons of DD on this, and still was surprised at some of the info.

Best part (for me) is showing how everything links together-- it helps me see that there are no easy (or even elegant) answers to this crisis.

If you are planning for the near future, these two shows should help show you where your money is NOT safe.

Thanks a lot for these, Russ. I bought the first one to put on my iPod and listen to while I cleaned my dad's office earlier, and it was very, very good.

I'm going to buy the second one to listen to when I go next week.

I enjoyed them so much that I sent them to my Vietnam teacher (probably the most politically/historically interested guy I've ever encountered. He'd actually heard the first part on the radio, but he really enjoyed the second part).
