Here is my plan: Group Fastlane Reality apprentice plan to new online venture Everybody loves reality TV, well think of this as Reality internet on the Fastlane to Millions forum. My general idea: To start a new e-business venture, with a group of quality Fastlane members who have entrepreneurial premise, driven, passionate, creative, can work in a group want true success and have the FastLane mentality. How its Going to work : A reality internet (Fastlane to Millions forum) group will be formed with me as the project manager we will then form an elimination system to start with say 10-15 members and eventually end up with say 4 members in total who will Brainstorm and form a new idea for a e-business venture but following very particular objectives or criteria(fast-lane objectives) witch will be scoped and outlined, then take that idea into the planning stages and execution of a successful online business all documented on the Fast Lane forum so all members can see our path and stepping stones to accomplishing this new venture from scratch Think of this as a combination of THE APPRENTICE TV show with more of a new online venture start up twist to it. On Fastlane to Millions forum by members for members and all documented to show our success. 1- I would like start to put together a select group of say 10-15 (apprentices) people who will then be narrowed down to 4 people, by a voted elimination system, witch will be detailed at a later time, just like a typical reality serious that I am sure all of you have seen .Criteria for elimination will be outlined by the initial starting group of 15 Fastlane member or anyone that feels they have a great idea to contribute to this that would work. 2- All business ideas will be kept confidential until the final group of four people is picked and we proceed with the idea that will be launched at that point, idea or plan will be made public on forum so members can learn and see our progress from A-Z all members will be signing NDA and partnership agreements etc. 3- We take comments and vote on whether we will also make the elimination public or keep it private amongst active apprentices only I would like to first here from any contributors on thoughts ideas or comments on this and start forming my first official group of say 10-20 people who are interested in participating as an apprentice, in what I believe will first of its kind online on a forum . This will eventually be moved to THE SPEEDWAY with MJ permission of course So everyone feel free to comment or take it apart so I can make changes and refinements to the idea!!! ![]() |

I like the idea! I think it would be a great addition to the forum. What will you judge people on as far as who is getting eliminated? Who gets picked? I think they will be tons of people interested in doing something like this, including myself. Also, when you reach the final four people and you guys have agreed upon a idea for a website...what happens if one of the people don't have the $$ to help get it started? Might have to make strict criteria's regarding time devotation and having a certain amount of money available for the venture. All in all...I support the idea, I think it can be done. It will just take awhile to really sort out the how everything should work.

Luke..Thanks for your comments and questions ..alot of details still need to be ironed out, but allot of them will be figured out when we form our initial group of 10-15, then to make it fair ,that group along with none group members and contributions and ideas from this forum we will come up with what i hope will be a fair elimination criteria...
We will be forming an e-business based on a minimal startup cost so most people should be fine with it , but gain this will be part of the base criteria This will be a work in progress so will change accordingly as to the best method for it to work successfully with everyones help |

I like this idea also, but as Luke said I am curious as to who will be doing the voting and on what criteria. How with the "initial" group be picked? Say you have 100 people doing this but only wish to start with 20. Would it simply be just a basic "casting call" of the best candidates? This is something I would be interested in doing, but as Luke pointed out, I don't have much money to invest. Unless as a group we decide that a our ebiz idea is credible enough to pursue investors and use OPM.

I think this idea has the potential to be really big in several different ways. People love the voyeuristic appeal of reality shows, coupled with fastlane financial principals- I think it would REALLY help MJ launch his book, as well as help any of the contestants launch their projects. You could do a web cam video diary on each one of them. I really think this idea would be a huge hit and has the potential to make fastlane income for lots of people!

Redshft …As project manager I will take an initial lead to start picking the first 15-20 people for this venture, Then the 15-20 will be resposible for the last 4 .I have not yet finalized my personal criteria but it should be fairly basic...
What do you guys feel would be some good basic criteria to start picking the first 15 people ??? ![]() Right now I would just like to hear who is interested in being In initial group to see how many people have interest in participating in this, and of course some of your input. Yveskleinsky ..Thanks…there will only be one final business venture not several small ones... yes it has huge potential people tend to be much more productive in a group inviorment working on projects , some great comments and ideas ... I will start forming a list of who wants in on this to start Please PM me if you want in !!!! ![]() ![]() |

As far as criteria, some important ones that come to mind are:
- Time Commitment. At least x number of hours a week to devote to development/implementation of the idea. - Feasibility of idea. Maybe have the candidates submit a BP? ...Unless you want them to work on pre-designed projects like on The Apprentice. - Startup Capital. Maybe a minimum amount of start up. I know that an idea (esp. fastlane idea) can be launched with very little, but maybe there should still be a min. amt. ...Maybe a take off of the $1k-$1m thread that was started. - Reliability of candidate. Need some sort of commitment for them to post/blog etc. results. ...Since the winner wouldn't win a job, (like the apprentice) what would they win? |

Cool, what a great idea.
rep speed+++ PS. I was actually among the final 40 candidates to be on The Apprentice, Season 2. I made it through 3 auditions, but was cut along with 15 others in the cut before the remaining candidiates were flown to NYC to interview and with Trump face-to-face. This was the season that Randall won the competition. Would have been cool to interview with Trump... |

I went to an open call in San Francisco in 2003 (I think) and waited in a line of 2,700 people. I was towards the end of the line and after about 3 hours in line, I decided I was going to leave. I made friends with the guys next to me and we decided to try and go to the front of the line and talk our way in the door. As we were leaving the line, a casting director who was nearby announced they were cutting off the line about 50 people in front of us. Everyone was dejected and packed up to leave. As we were walking away, the casting director approached me and the other 2 guys I was with. She took us around a corner and said, "Here are passes that will get you in the door. Come back at 1pm and we'll see that the 3 of you get an audition." We were stunned but excited! This was the first time I thought, "Wow, I might actually have a chance here." As background info, I was an aspiring actor and model for 3 years prior to moving to SF in 2003 so I knew a little bit about how auditions worked and what casting directors looked for. And my girlfriend LOVED reality TV so I'd also seen a few episodes of the first Apprentice, as well as a few other shows. 1pm rolled around and we made our way back to the audition site. I had already formulated a game plan as to how I would get noticed. I knew they were bringing us in in groups of 10 to meet the casting director. I had gotten to know the other 2 guys I was waiting with well enough to know one was a real loud-mouth and the other guy was really quiet and shy and a real pleaser. I knew he'd go along with anything the other guy said. My plan was to let the loud-mouth open his mouth and talk, talk, talk and then bait him into an argument! I decided to let everyone get a few minutes to give their points and I guessed they would all agree on whatever was asked because no one would want to risk offending anyone else in the group. I knew better. The question posed to our group was, "If you get selected for this show, will you be able to remain true to yourself and your personality?" I strategically positioned myself to be the last person in the circle so I would get to speak last. Everyone went around the circle and said essentially, "Of course I would remain true to myself. I would NEVER be represented differently, etc." They made it easy for me. When it got to me, the 9 people had all said just about the same thing. I became animated and spoke loudly. "You are all CRAZY! I disagree 100% with everything you have said. You have no control over what the camera shows and what the editors decide to do. You may be the next Omarosa and you can't do a DAMN thing about it. I hope you all get on the show because I will win for sure then! You are idiots!" Obviously, my intention wasn't to offend or be disagreable, but I knew I had to stand-out and be memorable to the casting people. After I finished my rant, everyone got up to leave and the casting director asked me to hang behind for a second because there was a mistake with my application. After everyone had left the room she said, "Congrats, you have made it to the next round!" I was pumped. The next round took place that week at a hotel in SF. I had to go meet with more casting directors in a room and they again asked me basic questions about myself, nothing more. Where are you from, etc, etc. I got a call a few days later letting me know I was in the final 40. I had to return to the hotel in SF to film a private video for Mr. Trump. I didn't say much other than that I was a hard worker, a good guy and he would never regret hiring me for a single second. I got a call a couple days later saying I would not invited to NYC to meet the Donald. Close, but no cigar. My business sense or acumen was never talked about throughout the entire audition process. I barely knew anything about business at that time and it would have been a joke if I had actually gotten on the show. But it was a fun experience and makes a great story at a cocktail party. |

Wow...awesome idea Bull and great story Sean.
Bull, I'd definitely be interested in taking part in something like this. First, though, a couple questions: 1) Will we be working strictly over the phone, online, and through email, so that there is no actual interaction? 2) I don't quite understand what the competition will be like. Are we competing AGAINST each other or WITH each other? 3) Where can I sign up? ![]() |

As soon as I read the idea, I was thinking that we should have a group assembled with some of the senior members here. They could serve as the judges and advisors to the participants.
As far as financing goes, I think that could be used as an advantage to the "show". The participants could use their creativity to try and FIND funding for their projects. Are people going to be collaboratively working on one project, or will each person be working on different, individual projects? |

Yankees- great thoughts on creative financing. I was also thinking along those lines, as it would add another element of interest- my hesitation was if there was a timeframe for someone to complete a project, then maybe lack of start up capital would delay the competition. ...I suppose that is limited thinking, and I would much rather see people get as creative as they can in as many ways as they can.
