Question about thanking

I have a question:
When I look at my profile information which appears on the left side of my posts, I see the remark "Thanked 0 times in 0 posts". This is not correct. Take this post Throwing good money after bad money for example.

Can someone please explain to me how this thanking is measured?

To register a thanks you have to click on the little blue icon that says "thanks". It's at the bottom of each post.
