It starts on my birthday, though, so I'll be perfectly fine at home. I'll finally have my license, too. Yeah...maybe I'll be okay.

Great job organizing this all, Russ. Rep+++ for you! Yet again, the importance of organization and planning.

This is a selfish request, but will any of these presentations be recorded?

I typically schedule everyone the first day (Fri) after they arrive.

That way, I don't wind up re-doing the schedule a few times.

Happy to honor any requests.

We'll do this at the meet up.

Word of caution. The weekend of the 10th, the nascar race is in Vegas and I think the weekend after that is the final 4. I know Vegas always has an event, but these weekends can be a little crowded.

I'll be in Vegas Feb 24-27 at HotelWorld.

We're staying at the MGM Signature Suites (incredible deal, for large, comfortable suites).

We're gonna be at Disneyland Feb 20-24.

-Russ H.

UPDATE: I'm talking w/Sharon about switching things around:

Feb 24-27 Vegas
Feb 27-Mar ? Disney/LA
Mar 7-9 Phoenix

I'll post if we change to this itinerary-- it makes for a loooooong road trip!

But what is this event exactly?
Just look at past posts under this forum under "Beer & Pancakes". There are LOTS.

Is it open to anyone?
Yes, anyone with a pulse who is willing to:

a)pay the entrance fee
b)show up
c)present 15 min on a topic of their choice (can be 7 min presentation/8 min Q&A. etc.)

Thanks for the heads up! I will be staying with a friend - you thinking large crowds of Nascar fans everywhere?

Russ I'll make a note to ask you what I should see in Vegas (I haven't been there in 7 years) - Trade you my whore stories for your vegas stories

Don't mess with the guys handing out those smut cards on the street. I smart-mouthed one of them (just playing around) and ended up in a fight. One of them rammed me in the back with his elbows and another punched me in the face. There were probably 8 of them circling around me when a passer-by grabbed and whisked me away. My wife was in the middle trying to keep separation between us.

Vegas is always an adventure.

I can only tell you from my experience last year that it was very crowded. Over 120,000 fans plus racing teams show up. March in Vegas is almost perfect Nascar weather. Since you have a place to stay, you should be ok, but avoid the track areas like the plague. We had a good driver and still took us over an hour and half to go those few miles. Other then that, it will probably be business as usual in Vegas.
