Home prices are cheap. Affordability is at a record high. And the market is littered with distressed properties looking for a buyer.

This would be a sweet bonus for those of you guys flipping houses - for your buyers to be able to use the $8,000 tax credit for down payment assistance at closing. Maybe that would give you a little more room in negotiating at the table - maybe you wouldn't have to pay their closing costs, etc.

What do you think? Good move by HUD?
