It's been a while since we have done this and we have a whole bunch of new people. Are you up for telling the rest of us what actions you took this week to further your goals?

Mine:

I have all of my rehabbed units rented.
Worked on rehab of last unit(should be ready to rent 2/29/08)
Contacted mortgage broker about getting equity out of investment property.
Contacted several RE brokers about setting up a Spring Break tour of potential investments in several states.

What did you do?

- We finally switched to a new property management company for our apartment. We are still transitioning some things and while it started off bad, our new PM company assured us that nothing has been derailed.

- I've finally started writing down the apartment experience, what we did and what to do next time.

- Completed my vision board

- I've started compiling what tasks, for running the website, can be outsourced.

- Until I actually outsource this, I'm updating our product lines/pricing and reconciling the accounting.

- had dinner with friends from Scotland, also involved in the music business, about creating an international relationship

- reminded/prodded my husband into following up with the people from the NAMM show (renewing relationships and potential business ventures)

- talked to a friend coming out here from Nashville to put on a house concert pre-Superbowl Sunday (I hope it doesn't rain this weekend as it's planned to be on our patio!)

Congratulations on a successful week! Last week for me was reactionary. It seemed there were fires to put out all over the place. I didn't get much done. This week will be diffferent. Thanks for the reminder.

Finally wrote out goals for 08. They are pretty minimal but definitely achievable.

Researched the SEC regulation about "Legal Ways To Offer and Sell Securities Without Registering With the SEC" in order to get money from investors for the next apt bldg deal. Still not clear if rules 505 and 506 allow me to get money from non Accredited Investors, so I'm still working on that.

Perhaps you might want to start another thread for this.

Thanks tbsells. I have those weeks too. I really don't like being reactionary, makes me feel bad. Good luck getting a handle on it this week.

What action did I take this week to reach my goals? I went fishing. Just me alone on a boat in the middle of the lake. Sometimes I just need to get away from everything for a while to clear my head. When I returned home all of the decisions I had been agonizing over seemed crystal clear.

Joined and read this forum for 30+ hours! Okay, it's not very "ACTIVE", but it was definitely a step in the right direction.

Put together financial statements to get a grip on where I really stand.

Reviewed / researched REOs in my area.

Good job Jill. We all have to start somewhere. It's a matter of putting one foot in front of the other and keep the momentum going.

Here's the short list:

I got a new voicemail system set up.

I ordered 100 of those nasty bandit signs.

Got a list (over 5000, I need to decrease) from the county information guy of all the properties I'm targeting.

Worked like hell.

Registered two very cool website addresses. Not sure exactly what to do with either. But I started a list of web businesses I am considering. Once the list is big enough with a lot of good ideas I'll pick one.

February should be good.

Made a decision to sell a car that is draining income while it sits in the garage. I decided to reduce the liability column of our life so we could act on our true goals more effectively. I'm, a car guy, so it was a big deal for me, lol.

Bought a domain name for my wife's startup.

Finally got my local server running correctly so I can start developing web pages with good layouts...still a long way to go, but this was a big step for me mentally.

Set aside time during the week to spend with my wife...most of my free time over the past few weeks has been taken up learning and reading for our new ventures and I needed to set up some type of system that would work for the "us time" while allowing us to pursue our own goals.

Gosh, it's only Monday and I can't really remember what I did last week! LOL

- Had the my e-commerce website (zen cart) upgraded (continue to deal with issues).
- Sent out a press release.
- Made an appointment with a Quickbooks expert to start on the right tract.
- Read a lot about e-commerce and realize how many things I have to do/learn.
- Made a long to do list for e-commerce site.
- Received some new products and put them on website.
- Got a new banner ad made.
- Reviewed all website forms and have recommended changes.
- Looked at three properties.
- Went hiking with the whole family.
- Walked 3 times this week!
- Actually used the "permanent" grocery bags at the store twice (in line with my new year's resolution to reduce our family's footprint on the environment).

here are mine,

worked on phase 2 of my rehab project on my commercial building (electrical)
kicked off my venture into making money on the net (website/forum)
started preparing for tax appointment

that in and of itself took all my available time. Unfortunately I am still in the rat race so this is in addition to all that.

Great Camski. I'm still in the rat race too. It takes personal inner strength to resist the temptation to just flop into the recliner each day and watch TV. I admire fellow rat racers that can find that drive and keep their momentum. + speed for getting up and doing it! Good luck.
